Image
Looking back to 2020, it was a crazy pandemic struck year with thousand trending stories. Among them, one of the burning trending's that took the media on a whirl in early October is the Tanishq Ekatvam Ad Commercial. The ad featuring a cross cultural baby shower breaking the social norms of religious barriers. Unfortunately, the ad was taken down soon after with back lashes and a tag of "Love Jihad". *Link -  Tanishq Ekatvam Little did we realize in the hustle and bustle of offending Indian sentiments, that Tanishq with this so-called controversial ad successfully positioned itself on the top of our minds and that my friend we can announce as " Shock Advertising " or " Shockvertising ". By definition, Shock Advertising or Shockvertising is a type of advertising that, "deliberately, rather than inadvertently, startles and offends its audience by violating norms for social values and personal ideals. United Colors of Benetton being a pioneer in ...

March 24th 2020, India following the footsteps of the far west declared the event which this generation never witnessed before "Nation wide Lock-down". The billion head count of Indian population settled themselves in a self proclaimed house arrest in a legit race of survival from a Pandemic. "Massacre" is a not so worthy enough word to describe this time frame. With caesura of daily work force, came a heavy blow on the economy. An inflation, recession and a GDP as microscopic as the deadly virus came all hand in hand. From daily waged laborer to white collared techie, everyone fell prey of this apocalypse look alike. As we are knocking the door of December or we may call it the final showdown of a hell of a year, the one sunshine in this pandemic I really want to address to is  "E-Commerce" .  Online shopping post the Unlock 1.0 has generated quite a hype specifically in the tier1 and tier2 cities of India. Being behind the closed doors for months which...

Corona Virus disease or popularly known as Covid 19 has taken the World on a whirl in the past couple of months. A microscopic organism unleashed itself by devastating families, economies, share markets and most importantly slaughtering millions of life. Digging into the origin, among many permutations and combinations the most acceptable story goes something like this: The disease grew in the womb of China at a place named Wuhan. Studies believe that bat is a carrier of the disease and un-sanitized bat meat exposed market and consumption of the same had been the fuel in the fire. The unknown serial killer got itself noticed in late December 2019 or early January 2020. But, it was early March until the global alarm was blown. Now, how did Covid plan this world tour. January 25th, 2020 was the Chinese New Year. New year eve is the time to spend with friends and family, but little could be mapped that it can be the blueprint of a Pandemic. France, Italy being the sassy fashion capital of...

A Dream

Image
I closed my eyes and saw a dream. A dream where I could feel your breath on my lips, feel your presence in my soul,  feel your existence in my arms. I could feel the warmth of a setting sun on a fine day, the tender grasses beneath my feet comforting me to live for the moment. Suddenly then, the cool breeze starts blowing. I could feel the chill down my spine. I could hear the hustling sound of leaves,  the dust blowing across me. I was cold, blue and did not dare to open my eyes. I stood there embracing the emptiness in the dark hours. Then a sudden silence overruled. I could feel a blanket tangled with the threads of hope around me. I encouraged myself to open my eyes and look beyond. look through the unexpected, look through the unknowing, look through the new. And, I saw a freshly born leaf. Green and fresh, ready to withstand the warm sun, the rushing wind, the tender dewdrops and the flushing monsoons. And, I welcomed mys...

Towards the Rising Sun

Image
A stormy night it was, thunder and lightning piercing through the clouds breaking apart the sky. There came a hustling sound of some feet rushing through the dark streets of a monsoon night. As the rain hit the ground the puddles splashed with the momentum of these feet as they went past the slimmest lanes of the city carrying their roughly beating heart in their bosom and their lives in their hand. Debu and his Biplabi friends ran across the city being chased by the police during the time of Colonized India. And, then came the next morining when Debu, Mir-janur, Tapan, Alok, Sashi landed up behind the bars for the criminal offense of loving one's motherland and demanding for it's freedom. Debu, a 19 year old boy, a future of the nation carrying boiling blood running through his veins with the only dream of seeing the sunshine of a free India. He, like many other young souls of that time was trashed in the jails for protesting against the British government a...
